What's a CSF?

The CSF (community supported forage) is a box of all wild foraged food and products, available for bi-weekly/monthly pickup or delivery.

Much like a farm CSA, San Francisco Bay Area members will receive a box of produce and fish (if you choose) on a weekly subscription basis throughout the season. Wild mushrooms (Chanterelles, black trumpet, morels), nettle, miners lettuce, halibut, nettle pesto, sea bean pickles, acorn bread, sea beans, fresh fruit, cattail rhizomes, etc...The only difference is that instead of farmed produce, we deliver a seasonally rotating selection of all wild foraged food.

That means nothing cultivated. Rather than being raised on the farm, our food grows naturally in our oceans and forests. Never touched by human hands until the day of its harvest. Some of the prepared items have non-foraged ingredients, but the spirit of the dish is always wild...And just in case you don’t know the first thing about cattail rhizomes or wapato root, we give recipes and suggestions on how prepare your edibles.

We also provide locally gleaned fruit from urban backyards, reducing waste and connecting neighbors. We mean to re-forge the link between the city and natural landscape. Give people sustainable jobs with respect, while feeding our neighbors. To see our CSF choices, and buy a box, please click "shop" to the left.

If there is something you get and don't like, please tell us, and you won't get it again. Much like a farm CSA, we ask our customers to sign up for monthly subscriptions. There is no long term commitment, but unless we hear otherwise, we will assume you want a subscription. That means that we will charge your card on the first of each month for the upcoming month. You can cancel at anytime, but we ask that you tell us before the first. We are a small operation, so cannot afford to give refunds.
