 What is wild?

Wild foraged means uncultivated.  These foods have never felt human hands until the day of harvest.  Instead of being raised on a farm, these foods grow naturally where they choose, in our local oceans and forests.  Always gathered in a sustainable manner, we hope to make wild food a regular, long term part of a more mindful way of eating.  Once you start eating wild food, you’ll see it wherever you go.  It’s a really amazing thing when you start to realize just how much of what you see every day is edible.

After you get your first box, that green stuff by the side of the trail in your favorite park, the stuff that looks like lillypads, will transform.  No longer strange, it becomes miners lettuce, one of the most delicious wild greens.  Instead of walking by, you’ll stop, maybe pluck a sprig and start to chew.  That stinging nettle that you always avoid like the plague…after you taste its intense nutritious flavor, you’ll never look at it the same way. Instead of cursing its sting (which has been shown to help arthritis), you will search it out, hoping to find a patch for tonights handmade nettle ravioli with morel cream sauce....
