You are so totally right. It’s about the carbon footprint, but not just about that. It’s about favoring the small local farmer over the giant agribusiness, but it’s not just about that either. It’s the whole combination of things that make getting your hands dirty while pullin’ food out of the ground and then cooking it for your friends that makes this whole movement so wonderful.

well said.

i remember hearing something about that guy, but i thought his hypothesis was based on the fact that in a lot of places for people to eat locally they would have to drive to several stores to buy things – produce in one place, then a bakery, a dairy farmer, etc.

my answer to that was: get a bike!
