Interns:

ForageSF now has internship opportunities available. Interning at forageSF is a great way to see the behind the scenes workings of one of San Francisco’s most innovative food companies. Our six month unpaid internships require a commitment of 20-30 hours/week. We regularly look to our interns when hiring for paid positions, so although there is no guarantee, these positions are a good way to get your foot in the door with our company.

We don’t do just one thing. We support local artisan creators through Forage Market and Forage Kitchen; we educate Bay Area residents through our wild food walks and tide pool tours; and we organize a myriad patchwork of events from Wild Kitchen dinners to Ramen Movie Nights. Interns get to see it all and do it all.

Forage Kitchen/Forage Market:

The Forage Kitchen intern will report to the forageSF core team and assist with the planning, development and early operations of Forage Kitchen. They will also be a key member in the daily operations of Forage Market

Responsibilities include:

  1. Cost Research related to the construction and management of Forage Kitchen

  2. Cost research and project finance analysis related to the construction and management of Forage Kitchen and its businesses.

  3. Tracking, helping to manage and submitting documents for the permitting process with the city and state.

  4. Assisting the Operations Director with construction and operations responsibilities, including P&L forecasting & management.

  5. Budgeting & Cost tracking

  6. Assisting with all aspects of the business management and investment process.

  8. Organizing vendors for the market.

  9. Permitting

  10. Media outreach and customer relations

BOH:

The Kitchen intern will report to the Iso Rabins and the BOH manager. This position will entail assisting with the organization and execution of all private or public forageSF events. This is a good opportunity to see the inner-workings of a successful food business that is on the cutting edge of San Francisco food culture.

Responsibilities include but not be limited t

  1. Assisting with ordering product

  2. Assisting with cooking before and during events

  3. Maintaining and updating both food and equipment inventories

  4. Assisting with recipe testing

  5. Assisting with setup/cleanup of events

  6. Working to expand our local product sourcing

  7. Office laundry as needed

  8. General and event related errands

  9. Track task progress Asana

FOH:

The Events intern will report to the Events Director and assist with the planning, organizing, and execution of all public and private forageSF events.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

General responsibilities:

  1. Organize and maintain FOH inventory

  2. Assist in table design and general purchasing

  3. General and event related errands

  4. Assist with private event development

  5. Events (public + private)

.           a.  Assist in FOH staffing

b.  Managing event load in and load out

c.  Assist in event setup and breakdown

d.  Assist in floor plan/event space organization

e.  Assist in rental ordering

f.   Assist in menu design/concept

g.  Event laundry

     6.   Attend weekly meetings to chart progress

     7.   Track task progress in Asana

Web:

The Web intern will assist with any web related activities for forageSF and the Forage Kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Website SEO

  2. Updating website + social media websites with event info:

  1. making sure site is current

  2. website maintenance

     c.   copy editing when necessary

  1. Assist in research items related to Forage Kitchen plan

  2. Inputting email addresses after events

  3. Being point of contact for info@foragesf.com and website submissions

  4. Track task progress in asana


Administrative (Office Manager):

1.  forageSF Class Management on Eventbrite

a.  Emailing attendees: class updates (ex. location/times changes), information and

    advisories

b.  Emailing teachers: class size updates, communicating equipment supply needs to

    Forage Kitchen and/or BOH intern

c.  Receiving and responding to both class and teacher feedback

2.  Event Reservations + Ticketing

a.   Update Eventbrite event postings

b.   Maintain event guest lists

c.   Create pre-event Guest Profiles, note kickstarter guest in kickstarter master doc, note gift certificate redemptions in Forage GC Master Doc

d.   Organize database around specific interest groups

e.   Manage and send Gift Certificates

f.    Communicating changes with FOH intern

6.  Maintaining office organization and development

7.  General + office related errands

8.  Taking minutes at meetings and updating Asana and calendars accordingly

 9.  Track task progress in asana
