Why Our Prices Went Up
If you’re a long time Forage Family member, you’ll notice that we raised the prices on our weekend mushroom foraging classes this year, and I thought it would be nice to write a bit about our reasoning.
Our mission has always been to help as many people as possible get out and connect with our amazing California environment. To stay in line with that mission, we’ve tried to keep our prices down as much as possible (while still paying our teachers well in one of the most expensive places on the planet). It’s been over 5 years since we last raised our prices, and especially with the huge hit we took shutting down from COVID, this was a necessary step to keep our business afloat.
As the season progresses, we’re going to attempt to offer some scholarships to folks who want to take our classes but for whatever reason can’t pay full price, and we’re actively looking for schools in low income areas that want to organize their students for free trips (so if you know any that would be a good fit please reach out).
Thanks for understanding and for all the support over the years!
